Terms and Conditions
1. General Information
Harpy Birding is a travel and ecotourism agency based in Cusco, Peru, specializing in birdwatching and sustainable nature tours. By booking any of our services, the client accepts these Terms and Conditions, which govern all reservations, payments, cancellations, and responsibilities.
2. Booking and Payment
A deposit (usually 30–50% of the total cost) is required to confirm your reservation.
The remaining balance must be paid before the start of the tour, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other accepted methods specified by Harpy Birding.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be requested in writing via email.
Refunds depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made:
More than 30 days before the tour: refund minus administrative costs (10%).
15–30 days before: 50% refund.
Less than 15 days before: no refund.
No refunds will be issued once the tour has started or for unused services.
4. Changes and Modifications
Harpy Birding reserves the right to modify itineraries or activities due to weather conditions, safety issues, strikes, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will always offer the best possible alternative of equal or higher value.
5. Responsibilities of the Traveler
Travelers must provide accurate personal information at the time of booking.
It is the traveler’s responsibility to carry valid travel documents, permits, and health insurance.
Travelers must follow the instructions of their guide and respect local communities, wildlife, and the environment.
6. Health and Safety
Participants should be in good physical condition appropriate for the chosen tour. Any medical condition must be communicated in advance. Harpy Birding is not responsible for illnesses, accidents, or injuries that occur due to the participant’s negligence or failure to disclose medical conditions.
7. Liability
Harpy Birding acts as an intermediary between travelers and local operators, transport providers, and accommodation. We are not responsible for delays, losses, accidents, or damages beyond our control. However, we always strive to ensure high safety standards and reliable partners.
8. Travel Insurance
All participants are strongly advised to have personal travel and medical insurance that covers accidents, health emergencies, cancellations, and lost baggage.
9. Photography and Promotion
Harpy Birding reserves the right to use photographs or videos taken during tours for promotional purposes unless the participant requests otherwise in writing before the tour.
10. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Peruvian law, and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Cusco, Peru.
